In answer to your query re- Hong Kong, I have respectfully to submit the following:-
1. What would be the English equivalent of $12 per month (approximate)? I am informed that it would be under £2 8s.
Is that so?
2. Does the Dollar fluctuate?
3. Is there any depreciation of a dollar in its exchange into English?
4. Would the return passage be paid?
5. What facilities would be given (if any) for the payment of the passage of family in the event of claim to and conditions being suitable? I understand the fare is $42.
6. What would be the cost of lodgings (approximate) for one person?
7. Would there be any prospect of promotion?
8. What is the percentage of persons attacked by plague?
In submitting the above for your consideration and answer, I am of opinion that I should not improve my position.
